MTPL (Motor Third Party Liability) - mandatory insurance

Subject of the insurance - subject of the compulsory MTPL insurance shall be the civil liability of the insured private individuals and legal entities for the property and non-property damages they caused to third persons in connection with the possessing and/or driving of motor vehicles, for which the insured persons are responsible according to the Bulgarian legislation or the legislation of the country, where the accident has occurred.

Insured persons shall be considered the owner of the motor vehicle, for which there is a valid insurance contract, as well as any other person, who drives the motor vehicle on legal grounds.

Territorial scope - the insurance cover is valid for the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria and the member states of the European Union.
